Woodhouse Laboratories makes it convenient for you to do your routine testing. We offer both autoclave spore testing, and dental unit waterline testing - all in simple mail-in kits.
Our in-house microbiologists and technicians are experienced and knowledgeable about all types of sterilization and understand the challenges of each. We provide our customers with reliable and accurate results as well as friendly and helpful customer service.
Whether you have a steam or dry autoclave, chemical or EtOH sterilizer our biological monitoring service will work for you. Our clients include dentists, oral surgeons, body art professionals, OB/GYN’s, veterinarians and cosmetologists.

Our Team
Gemma Woodhouse
Co-Owner
Education: M.S. in Environmental Science from Western Washington University, B.S. in General Biology from University of Washington, B.S. in Aquatic and Fisheries Science from University of Washington.
Gemma Woodhouse is the founder of Woodhouse Laboratories and has served as a laboratory director since 2015. She has an extensive professional history working in environmental and microbiology laboratories throughout Washington State, where she developed deep expertise in regulatory compliance and public health testing. Her background includes comprehensive experience in drinking water and wastewater analysis, and quality assurance within accredited laboratory environments.
Over the course of her career, Gemma has worked closely with state and local regulatory agencies, supported municipal and private clients, and overseen laboratory operations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to evolving standards. At Woodhouse Laboratories, she applies this experience to provide reliable sterilization monitoring, dental unit waterline testing, and microbiological services, with a strong emphasis on quality, transparency, and client support.
When she isn't in the lab, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and working on her hobby farm.
Dustin Gleaves
Co-Owner
Education: M.A. in Environmental Studies from Western Washington University, B.S. in Environmental Science from Western Washington University.
Experience: 10 years client services, 6 years supply chain and environmental health and safety, 2 years laboratory management, 2 years government administration.
Dustin brings over 10 years of client service, project management, and industry supply chain experience to the Woodhouse Laboratories team. He has previously served as both supply chain analyst and environmental health and safety trainer at Boeing. He has also taught environmental and statistics coursework at Western Washington University. Outside of the lab, Dustin holds elected office as Fire Commissioner of his fire district and volunteers with his local food bank and Humane Society.
Dr. Clive Woodhouse
Consulting Microbiologist
Education: Ph.D. in Tumor Immunology from University of Birmingham, B.S. Botany/Zoology
Experience: 14 years in immunoresearch, 23 years of general laboratory experience.
Clive has worked for 20 years in the biotechnology industry developing novel antibody therapeutics for clinical trials. Compliance with GMP for intravenous products, and development of immunoassays for clinical monitoring are included in his experience. Clive is now a consulting microbiologist at Woodhouse Laboratories.
